Before building, download the first frame and look at it. If ffmpeg is available, download the clip and extract frames (ffmpeg -i clip.mp4 -vf fps=2 frame-%02d.png), then study the motion frame by frame. Match what you see; the text below describes it, the frames are the truth.
BUILD: Build a single black pill action button with a fine animated character texture and a pointer-responsive colored rim, keeping its white label steady.
DESIGN SYSTEM: Approximately 200 by 60px, full pill radius, near-black #050505 surface, 18px medium sans-serif label, pale #ededed surrounding surface. Use tiny gray monospaced characters inside the pill, clipped to its shape, with a narrow violet #9562ff and occasional coral #ff685f glow.
MOTION: On pointer entry fade the character layer in over 180ms using cubic-bezier(.2,.8,.2,1). Move a 90px radial highlight toward the pointer with 100ms smoothing. Change character samples every 80ms only during hover. Fade out over 220ms on exit. These timings are implementation targets, not measured footage.
SECTIONS: Idle black pill; hover reveals the fine character grid and colored perimeter; pressed scales to .98; keyboard focus shows a clear violet ring without requiring pointer tracking.
IMPLEMENTATION: Use a real button, a small clipped canvas for characters and CSS gradients for the border. Use Motion for opacity transitions. Cap canvas density and device pixel ratio at 2, stop requestAnimationFrame when idle, and keep decorative layers aria-hidden. Reduced motion uses a static texture and border. Preserve the accessible label and normal keyboard activation.
ADAPT TO THE PROJECT: Reuse existing project tokens, components and fonts. Map colors to the closest tokens. Never copy logos, brand names, photos or illustrations; use placeholders.
SUCCESS CHECK:
- Label remains readable in every state.
- Character texture and rim respond without changing button dimensions.
- Keyboard and reduced-motion modes work without pointer movement.
